The Virgin of Elusa (Tolga)

On August 8, 1314, going on his diocese, the saint of Rostov visited the surroundings of White Lake and from there traveled along the banks of the Sheksna and Volga Rivers, to Yaroslavl, on the right bank of the Volga flows the Tolga River. At midnight, he woke up to see a bright light illuminate the area. The light came from a burning column on another bank of the river; he went across to the other shore, and having approached the fiery column, he beheld the icon suspended in the air. Amazed at the miracle, they cleaned the part where the icon appeared and built a Monastery in honor of it.
