Jelena Savkina

The art of the restorations of icons

Jelena is teacher of restoration and restorer of the cathedral of Alexander Nevski of Tallin.

  • 1979 – Adjusted as the school of art of Ivanovo (Soviet Union), Department of Painting and Drawing, painting Teacher.

  • 1980 – Worker of the Art museum of Ivanovo and teacher of Study of the Art.

  • Named member of the personnel of the academy and ordered to the center of restoration and investigation of J. Grabarja. Sent to the art museum of the county as official restorer.

  • 1983-1989 – Student of art of the academy of Ivanovsk in the History department of the art.

  • 1994 – Teacher of painting and restoration in the school deprived of Art of Tallin, Estonia.

  • 1997-2000  – Learning of the painting of the icon in the school of the church of Tver (Russia), for the famous painter of icons Andrei Zaprudov.

She possesses a restoration study in Tallin, Estonia. One of her biggest works has been the creation of a new icon in honor of the relics of the saint San Sergey Florinenko.

For order of the Archbishop of Estonia Metropolitan Kornelius she has painted the icon “Meeting of Santos de Estonia”, which there was given to his majestad the Patriarch Alexius II of Moscow and of the whole Russia in his visit to Tallin in 2003.

In these moments she is painting an icon in one of the walls of the orthodox Church of Narva, and is designing the book “the meeting of Santos de Estonia”, written by metropolite Korrelius of Tallin and Estonia.

She possesses several distinctions for his work on the part of the Orthodox Church with several Orders to the Merit, which have been signed by his Majesty Alexius II of Moscow and archbishop’s Metropolitan Kornelius of Estonia.
