Martyr Bassa (Edessa), from a Christian family, taught religion to her children and married a pagan priest, who denounced her, killed her children and sent her to jail to starve, an angel fed her, left Unharmed from the torture and when they tried to sink her to the bottom of the sea, three men (her children) took her out in a boat from the bottom of the sea. She was beheaded in her fight against the governor of Alona. In 450 she already had a church in her honor.
