He was born in Licia, Turkey, heir of an immense fortune, distributed his wealths between the poor and went away of monk. In east they call him Nicholas of Mira, and in Occident Nicholas of Bari. When the Muslims invaded Turkey, a group of Catholics extracted from there secretly the relics of the Saint and one took them to Bari. Big miracles took place on him after praying to him, already in the year 550 he had a temple in his honor. He died on December 6 of the year 345.
