He was one of Seventy Apostles, and he was between the first deacons of Christ’s Church. In the Holy Acts of the Saints Apostles (6: 1-6) it is said that the twelve Apostles chose seven men: Stephen, Philippe, Prochorus, Nicanor, Rudder, Parmenas and Nicholas. Full of Holy Spirit and knowledge, for serving like Deacons. The Holy Church celebrates the memory of all together on July 28, although they died in dates and different places. Saint Nicanor suffered very much the day that Saint Stephen and other Christians were murdered stoned.
